Texas Partnership for End-of-Life Care names 2005 Statewide Champion  Awards  for  Excellence  in  End-of-Life and  Palliative Care

The Texas Partnership for End-of-Life Care (TxPEC) will celebrate the "Dancing with Stars" Champions Gala at the TDS Exotic Game Ranch in Creedmoor, Texas, on November 18th, 2005.  The Gala honors the contributions of advocates in the field of end-of-life and palliative care in Texas.  Our 2005 champions were chosen from a host of nominations provided by members, organizations, and the general public from across the state of Texas. Many of the Champions were chosen for their work in hospice, program development, hospital palliative care, prison hospice, or pediatric palliative care. Others were chosen because they are making a significant contribution in a practice setting such as oncology or geriatrics.  Still others were chosen for their involvement in public policy initiatives that improve end-of-life care at the statewide level. For all these reasons, TxPEC is proud to announce the Texas Champions in End-of-Life Care for 2005. They are:

Donna Loflin, LSW, MAHS Vice President of Education - TAHSA Round Rock, TX
Jim Monahan, MED President and CEO - Houston Hospice & Palliative Care Houston, Texas
